Wet your face with lukewarm water. The water temperature for washing your face is very important. Some people, to save time, wash their face directly with cold water; others believe that because they have oily skin, they need to use very hot water to wash away the oil and dirt. These are both incorrect views. The correct method is to use lukewarm water. It is generally recommended to use purified water, as tap water is already starting to damage facial skin. This ensures that pores open fully without stripping the skin of its natural moisturizing oils.
Lather your facial cleanser thoroughly. Regardless of the type of facial cleanser used, the amount should not be too much; a coin-sized amount is sufficient. Before applying it to your face, be sure to lather the cleanser thoroughly in your palms. Forgetting this step is common, but it is the most important. If the cleanser is not properly lathered, it will not only fail to clean effectively but may also remain in the pores, causing acne. More lather is better, and you can use tools that help create more lather. Of course, dry skin shouldn't use facial cleansers with lots of foam. Generally, they won't produce a lot of foam; just spread it evenly in your palms before applying it to your face.
Gently massage for 15 seconds. After applying the foam to your face, gently massage in circular motions from the bottom up. Don't use too much force to avoid wrinkles. Massage for about 15 seconds to ensure the foam covers your entire face.
Rinse off the cleanser. After massaging with the cleanser, you can rinse it off. Some women are afraid of not rinsing thoroughly and rub their face vigorously with a towel. This is very bad for delicate skin. You should gently pat your face with a damp towel several times to remove the cleanser without damaging your skin.
Check your hairline. After rinsing, you might think the face washing process is complete, but it's not. You should also check in the mirror to see if there is any cleanser residue around your hairline. This step is often overlooked. Some women are prone to acne around their hairline because they neglect this step.
Rinse your face with cold water 20 times. Finally, cup your hands and splash cold water on your face about 20 times, while gently patting your face with a towel dampened with cool water. This helps tighten pores and promotes blood circulation in the face. This completes the face washing process.
